4187 John Findlay (Jock) Young died, aged 92, on 25 November 2014 in Victoria Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa. Jock, who was a member of the Western Cape Branch of the Association and a Glaswegian, served with the Royal Naval Air Arm during the WWII, continuing his calling as a fitter, in which capacity he had been employed by the Rolls-Royce Company in his home town, rising to the rank of Petty Officer. Jock attested into the Force  on 12 January 1947 and after early service in Bulawayo Urban returned to Salisbury where he held a number of posts at Salisbury Central and         Suburban stations. He was Member in Charge of Rhodesville, Licence Inspector’s Office, Enquiries Section and finally Station Inspector at Railway     Avenue.   He enjoyed playing badminton and golf. Jock retired on pension on 22 February 1969 with the rank of Chief Inspector.
